How do you guys motivate yourselves? I haven’t been motivated in a few months. I’m struggling right now to make healthy decisions and exercise.

Would love to hear any suggestions you have, too!

I’ve not been a great example the past five days, but actions motivate me. Feeling like I accomplished something, even if it’s small, leads to more wins. And when I do reach my goal, I’m going to need to continue these actions if I want to stay at goal. Atomic Habits is a very insightful and motivating book, I think, and helps me remember that little choices add up.

This month is a bit frustrating. I’m doing the same as last month which was a great success but the pounds are coming off much more slowly. My body is changing as I’m down a full notch on my belt, so good things are happening, but the obstinate scale, like the mainstream media, refuses to report on those good things. At some point I’m hoping to exasperate it and it will just give in and report a lower weight. Until then, more water and more veggies! Hope you all are doing well!

Keep at it , you are doing great ! I agree with Ashley make small changes to continue your progress

AlyciaF

If we move slowly, but sustainably, we never have be to be “here” again (you know, with grace for life’s curve balls, and learning to navigate new challenges that might come up). You’re showing up and finding the wins- that’s progress!

Fighting hard to not lose steam. I face planted yesterday, but stayed intentional with the first half of the day. I can’t stay there and I’m not proud of it, but I’m owning it, which I never would have done before. I would’ve left that part of the tracker empty and moved on.

If you make a not so great choice just think “my next immediate choice will balance out this one”
If you drink a shot, drink a water next.
If you eat chips, eat some baby carrots next. Don’t “punish” yourself, just think of EACH choice as an individual decision, not as an excuse to continue to eat lots of silly carbs.
No more waiting for Monday. No more “falling of the wagon” you just make each choice one after the other. Some will be healthier than others.
Keep posting for accountability because I am here and I care!!
You CAN do this!!

Thank you ladies.

I can’t stop laughing - I’m relatively new to 2B and we had a very veggie heavy Thanksgiving, or so I thought.

In addition to some of the traditional family dishes, we had a pumpkin and squash casserole with goat cheese and hazelnuts, Brussels with squash, and pumpkin/squash soup. I had loaded up on these “veggie” dishes and was so satisfied and pleased.

I then realized that squash and pumpkin are FFC’s. Wasn’t quite the weight loss Thanksgiving I was going for, but I did maintain and I now have 3 new recipes to add to my rotation for lunches.

If you maintained with all of those FFCs present, that’s a pretty great outcome!

I had so many veggies for breakfast & lunch, I think that helped balance it out. We also ate earlier and ended the day sipping decaf and water.

I could’ve been more focused, but like many have said, I made so many choices that were better than previous years. Not a loss day, but still on track with my weekly goals. Tracker in comments.
