  • Veggies most with a spicy veggie Thai pizza (made mine with spaghetti squash crust) and finishing dinner with the coco loco wonder whip.

Thai food is one of my comfort foods and dinner hit all the right spots (wish I had a picture before the family devoured it)

  • Just got back from grocery store and found “side away foods” balsamic beet noodles and Moroccan tagine …. Any thoughts on the nutritional labels? Good bit of sugar in the beets one but only 3 grams added…

    THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for doing this calls!!! Have a great week!

Oh my - turns out I was a lot more active this last month while on jury duty. Now that I’m back at work, I’ve realized just how little I get up and walk around. I went from walking about 5 miles a day at the courthouse to 2 miles max.

I’m focusing this week on finding creating ways to bring movement into my life during the workday. Started using the bathroom upstairs instead of the one next to my office, which is a great start. Next is incorporating small breaks away from my desk with the end goal of eventually taking a walk or going for a bike ride during those breaks.

Love the idea of using the bathroom that's further away! Not only would I get more stairs in but those extra trips throughout the day will really add steps!

I can’t stop laughing - I’m relatively new to 2B and we had a very veggie heavy Thanksgiving, or so I thought.

In addition to some of the traditional family dishes, we had a pumpkin and squash casserole with goat cheese and hazelnuts, Brussels with squash, and pumpkin/squash soup. I had loaded up on these “veggie” dishes and was so satisfied and pleased.

I then realized that squash and pumpkin are FFC’s. Wasn’t quite the weight loss Thanksgiving I was going for, but I did maintain and I now have 3 new recipes to add to my rotation for lunches.

AlyciaF

If you maintained with all of those FFCs present, that’s a pretty great outcome!

Carissa F.

I had so many veggies for breakfast & lunch, I think that helped balance it out. We also ate earlier and ended the day sipping decaf and water.

I’ve been doing 2B for about a year and a half, after regaining 30 lbs from my previous 100 lbs weight loss (tracking and restricting portions, but felt hungry a lot). I’m very close to my goal weight, and I’m trying to push past “good enough plateau”. My kids eat fairly healthy, but I try not to demonize silly treats or having carbs later in the day. My husband has been resistant to healthy eating habits. I modify my meals to add extra veggies to what I make for the family. Last night, I really hurt his feelings. He was excited to show me a recipe on TikTok. I was underwhelmed and told him I didn’t see veggies in it. He apparently thought the little pepper and onion in it counted (looked like just a bit for flavor to me). He was truly upset that he couldn’t cook what he wanted for the family because I wouldn’t eat it. I told him that I would probably have a small portion with a large plate of vegetables. I don’t think I should feel bad for not being excited about recipes that are meat and potatoes, but I don’t want to hurt my husband’s feelings.😞

Keep trying. We don’t mean to hurt others’ feelings, but for some of us, consistency takes extra effort, and we can feel defensive about our progress. All we can do is explain that we really do need certain things to feel our best, and it’s not personal at all. It is hard sometimes, but the more our family and friends see how good we feel with veggies most, the more it might make sense.

Alternatively, if you’re in a good place for it with mindset, and if you wanted to, it could be a treat? Sometimes I take a setback if I decide it’s worth it. I just have to be careful about how often.

Feel free to disregard all of that if it isn’t helpful.

Carissa F.

This is 100% my household.

M husband keeps bringing up that he’s trusting me with his stomach and his stomach doesn’t like veggies. I usually retort with something along the lines of “you don’t like veggies _yet_”

We recently had a good talk and assured him that if he finds something he really wants and I’m able to modify/add veggies for my plate we can go for it. If it’s something that doesn’t modify well for dinner, I’ll do small changes and make it as a lunch over the weekend.

We’ll see how it goes, but I’m hopefully we put food debates to rest. It’s so draining and my
Motivation takes a hit every time it comes up.

Hi, I'm Lindsay, from Chicago. I was motivated to join the group because I've been in a pretty good mindset lately and wanted to give myself some extra accountability to keep it up during the holidays. My non-scale goal is to get more sleep - I'm a single mom with almost full custody of 3 school age kids and a full time job, so I get so little time to myself that it's hard to make myself go to bed during that brief period of time when the kids are all asleep and I have a little bit of time to myself.

Hi! I'm from Long Island NY. I am doing this diet bet because I've put on some weight that needs to go! And a NSV I'm working on is feeling better in my clothes.

I think one of the reasons I didn’t win Ilana’s last game was that I didn’t set mini goals to meet through the 4 weeks. I do better when I have boxes to check, so that even if the scale doesn’t reflect my effort every day, I have a record of all the good choices I made. More good choices usually snowball when I can achieve small wins. Action begets motivation begets momentum.
This week I’m aiming for
-Closing my rings every day
-Water First before every meal
-Watching the 2B Super Block on weekdays

So far, I’ve watched SB W1D1, and WF before breakfast and coffee. 32oz down!

Edit- did the things!

I love this idea and I think it’ll help me as well. Midway through the last round I was summoned for jury duty. While that killed my planned lunches and means I have to eat out every day, I was more active and drank more water.

Trial’s not over yet, so setting some small daily goals that are achievable will help keep me motivated.

AlyciaF

@ Carissa oof! That would be a curve ball. Great job seeing the positive!

Just a quick rant and then I’m good - hormones are the worst! Every 3-4 weeks my weight jumps 2lbs and will stay there for a week before slowly re-entering weight loss mode.

I know it’s a little petty, but I really wanted to meet the DietBet goal but timing wise, I’m not sure I can now. I know this is more about accountability than a number, but it’s so discouraging and I admit I was quite angry during this week’s weigh in.

Whew - I’m good now ☺

I get it it’s not easy ! The hormones with our cycle!
Imagine that I have pcos and never know where in my cycle I am ‘ it’s even more frustrating! My weight to goes up before and during my period !!! Don’t get discouraged ( I personally don’t weight myself everyday when on my period )

AllanInCleveland

Like everything else in this world, it seems even weight loss is rigged against women. That sucks. So sorry. Hang in there and do what you can. Hope you make it. I’m cheering for you!
