Weight machines are my least favorite I'd much rather use dumbells, kettlebells, or barbells for workouts.

Feeling like I dodged a bullet: My husband's birthday party is two days before our final weigh-in for this game, and I was anticipating having to make some tough choices about what to eat and drink at it. But he just told me what he wants for his cake, and it's something I'm not even remotely tempted by (I don't want to say it because I don't want to yuck someone else's yum), and I'm not that excited by the rest of the meal he chose, either! Yes! For once having dissimilar food favorites comes in handy.

    We went on a hike today. Just about 3 miles and tons of fun. We call our outdoor days adventure days; keeps the littles excited. The kids love it, dogs love it, everyone loves it.

For me, the weekends are very difficult to stay on track.

Birthday parties, days out with family complete with eating out etc, it's sometimes so hard to make the right food choices every time.

I'm doing relatively well on this dietbet with only needing to lose another 3.5 lbs. But after yet another weekend of going off track, I'm guessing my weight in the morning will be a bit higher.

I WILL be on track this week and looking to be stronger for the weekends.

I definitely need to work on making better choices when eating out and I need to remember that I don't have to eat it all. I can bring some home for another time.

How is everyone doing so far?

You're so right Gina. Thanks for that. I just checked my weight this morning and only up by a half. So I feel like I'm still on track and that half (plus more) will be gone soon. And yes, the weekend activities have definitely been fun! :grin:

  • The 3rd challenge is the Nutrition Challenge!

    Here is the challenge if you choose to accept:

    *Eat 5 servings a day from the fruit/vegetable group, 5 days this week.

    It can be all vegetables or any combo of both. What is a serving? For the purpose of our challenge we will use the American Heart Association definition: Vegetables: 1 cup of raw leafy vegetables (about the size of a small fist), 1/2 cup of other vegetables or 1/2 cup of vegetable juice. Fruits: 1 medium fruit (the size of a baseball); 1/2 cup chopped, cooked or canned fruit; or 1/2 cup juice.

    One suggestion, but not part of the challenge: Please post at least one picture of a healthy meal you eat this week. It provides great ideas for everyone in our game! And remember to make healthy food choices in other food groups but we are not measuring those for this challenge.

    **At the end of the week I will ask you to comment under a post I will have pinned at the top of the game page. You will need to click on (comment) below that post and report in there. You will have until Saturday 10:00 PM Pacific Time to report in. I will then put all the players who completed this weeks challenge into our drawing for a $30 Amazon gift card or PayPal cash!

Most scales 'fix' your weight for a few moments once the numbers stabilise. Prepare the camera on your phone, set it on a surface beside you and grab as soon as the numbers stop moving. Sometimes takes more than one try, but ...
