I’ve got some work to do!

Here is my plan for tomorrow:
Breakfast: Greek yo, 1 banana, 1/4 c walnuts, spirulina, protein powder
Lunch: Dave’s bread, avo, 3 eggs, spinach
Dinner: Costco prepared salmon, veggies, salad
Snacks: Carrots, other chopped veggies

I’ll be checking in on how it goes.

I returned back from travel today, and I can feel the impacts of not using my paper tracker! Lots of silly snacks and while I didn’t drink, water wasn’t always first; I’d notice I was super thirsty after meals. I’ve made better choices today and I’m off to bed confident that this upcoming week will be filled with great habits and progress toward my goal!

  • I have a birthday and Christmas coming up. Then moving at the end of December. I could tell myself every excuse to not eat well and start in the new year. I decided instead to start NOW! Here are my meals that I prepped in my hotel kitchenette. I’m travelling for work the next 3 days.
    Breakfast: 2 eggs, egg whites, spinach, feta. 1 2B compliant thin bun and 1T jam
    Snack: 1 scoop shakeology, 1 cup fat free Fairlife and 1 cup cukes
    Lunch: 2 stuffed peppers, zucchini and 1 cup of thawed frozen fruit
    Dinner: cod with broccoli, carrots and cheese
    Now I’m dinner and done ✅

Sunday’s tracker (in comments) outlines why I am in this group. It’s not pretty, and I never share days like this. But I’m going to in this game. I have to own where I am before I can move forward.

I’ve already read several posts in here that were encouraging- how people handled their choices in a more constructive way. If you’re a fellow bunny, please feel free to add any wisdom, tough love, or encouragement. I analyzed a bit at the bottom, and am going to journal more today. Reading Atomic Habits and Alan Carr’s book on alcohol.

I am however very proud of how consistent I was through the week with the mini goals I set for myself. Clearly I need to set some around weekends.
Closed rings 7/7 days
Water First 18/21 meals
Watched the 2B SB 5/5 weekdays, and some extra AMAs.

I definitely had a few treats between Friday-Sunday. But I also made a big batch of chicken and veggie soup. My mindset is no longer “all or nothing”. I can get back on track faster. I can drink a Smirnoff and then fill my water bottle. I can have a piece of candy then eat a veggie filled meal. Eating a piece of candy is not permission to give up eating healthy for the rest of the day. These little games we play in our heads where we say “Oh, I fell off the wagon, guess I’ll start Monday” are just an excuse! Every eating opportunity is a choice. We can make a good choice immediately after making a not so great choice.
