Woke up this morning the same weight as yesterday and originally was pretty bummed. But then I remembered, it’s not a gain, I didn’t 💩 yesterday and I’m sore from my weights workout yesterday. So I just need to stay the course and see a drop tomorrow! Also, I have a quiet weekend so using that as a push to lose some lbs. here’s to a wlw!!

My biggest challenge is “dinner and done”…. I find that I get hungry around 830 pm.
Has anyone else experienced this and overcame not eating after dinner? Maybe I just need to push through and it will get easier. I know this is one of the main obstacles that is stopping me from the losing and gaining cycle.

I’m trying the distraction route. What I think is hunger, I suspect is habit so I need to break the bad habit. This one’s hard … I’m going to power thru the next few nights. I keep looking at the clock & remind myself, the closer I get to bedtime, the less I need to eat something. It’s a mind trick for sure.

A pang of hunger doesn’t necessarily mean we’re hungry. It can mean your digestive system is doing its job moving things through. Ilana says in her book to drink water to help the process along and make you feel less hungry. But she’s also said a nice seltzer or spindrift with stevia is a great night option and I agree. It’s enjoyable and refreshing.

  • My dinner tonight. So good! Big salad with greens, sprouts, peppers, tomatoes, beets, and cucumbers. I topped it with simple chickpea and edamame salad and roasted pumpkin seeds for some protein. I dressed it with a little balsamic vinegar. If I’m still hungry I’m going to have an iq bar. I’ve said no to the lingering holiday sweets for two days now!

This looks great! Are the beets pickled? Thought about getting some for my salads.

Good job saying no to the sweets.

I’m starting this year off by cutting out hiit/heavy cardio and switching to weights and walking. This seems crazy to me, but I keep seeing that as the key to success for post 40 year olds. Has anyone else made the switch and seem success?

Ooh I love this kind of success story! I am missing the sweat sessions, but hopefully releasing the weight will be the payoff.

You will not be sorry after switching to weights. I went this direction in my 50s and my strength continues to build. I’ve been doing 80 Day Obsession (beach body) & it really changed my body. She also works in HIIT on the weekly.

For those who weigh in daily every day … what do you do when you do everything “right” and scale stays exactly the same ?? The old me would throw in the towel and say “F it,” but I don’t want to do that anymore ! That mentality is why I have been yo-yoing back and forth the same 5 lbs for 2 years.

  • If you do it daily you become desensitized to the car crash of emotion that comes when it goes up. Seriously. Plus there are times that it goes down that you don’t even know bc you aren’t looking! Like others mentioned, it’s data. It also helped me learn that it might go up today but then down the next two days. I’ve had six decrease days out of 8 so far this month. One day that I went up, it was 1.8 lbs, which used to deflate me. But surrounded by all the loss, I know it’s all good. For reference, green is loss, pink is gain, yellow is no change (I rarely get those).

It’s so great that you’re aware of that old mindset and are ready to break free from it! Remember, the scale is just one tool, not the full story. When it doesn’t move, focus on the bigger picture, how you feel, your energy levels, how your clothes fit, and non-scale victories like sticking to your habits.

With 2B Mindset, it’s helpful to reflect and ask yourself: Am I drinking enough water? Did I focus on veggies first? Am I tracking honestly? Sometimes small tweaks make a big difference, even when it feels like you’re doing everything right.

Consistency beats perfection every time, and the key is to stay patient. The scale will eventually catch up, but your healthy habits are what truly create lasting change. Keep going you’ve got this!

  • It’s been awhile since I’ve had a salad for dinner.

I eat lot of salads and then I get sick of it :sweat_smile:

Melanie B.

I’ve been eating a huge salad (all vegg) pre-dinner for a couple years now to get full before the main & I find I miss it if I don’t have a salad for a couple of days. It’s proved to me Ilana’s theory that you start craving more vegg the more you eat them. It takes consistency & variety to keep it yummy. Tracking the extras like nuts, seeds, eggs, avo etc. is key for my success. Yummy.

  • Starting this right when I’m PMSing is HARD! But, I’m very proud of myself. I just made a bomb salad that may sound a little weird.
Shredded carrots, cherry tomato, celery, cucumber, romaine lettuce, red onion, red pepper and grilled chicken nuggets chopped up. Dressing is cottage cheese, one lemon, and a sprinkle of vegeta seasoning! YUM! I made a really big bowl and looks like lunch tomorrow!

  • I saw the Totally Tuna Un-wich from Jimmy John’s on Ilona’s Instagram. I am traveling for work and always struggle with lunch on the go. This was delicious and is a total game changer!! Thank you Ilona!! Day 2 and I’m so excited for this challenge.
