So frustrated… I went up 3 lbs overnight. I was 96% to my goal and now I keep going backwards. I KNOW it’s because I’m starting my period in 3~ days because I’ve been mostly on point (and I haven’t done enough damage to actually gain 3 lbs of fat). But it’s hard when I’m so close to the end of this and I haven’t made as much progress as I thought I would!

You can do it! Drink your water and stay focused! When this kind of thing happens I give myself a pep talk. Say things like “you can do this! It’s only one week: you can be on point for a week even with your cycle! You’ve got this!” These are the days listen to as much Ilana content as possible to help me stay focused throughout the day. Get in your water and your movement to encourage your body to release!

Something that helps me quite a bit when the scale goes up… a pound of fat is 3,500 calories. Yes, you may fluctuate up and down a few lbs each day but eating a cookie after dinner did not ADD 3,500 to your day and make you gain a whole pound of fat. It just didn’t. So don’t give up!!!! A cookie is a cookie; eat it, enjoy it, track it and move on!

Honestly, sometimes when the scale isn’t budging for me, indulging in a few extra calories such as a cookie or chips helps break the stall and makes the scale move.

  • I confess I have a pumpkin spice addiction (which will turn into a gingerbread addiction during the holidays)…these limited edition/seasonal items give me this weird scarcity mindset. Tried to get healthier choices but any tips?

Just buy cans and cans of pumpkin! You can add it yourself to yogurt, smoothies, breads, coffee, pancakes
