1. Setting aside time for mental health and movement which I usually let slide on the weekends.
2. No alcohol - water!!
3. Focusing on whole foods
4. Sleep!

Christine V.

Fine tune my mindset and lots of water!

Hi loves!! Happy FriYAY!! This is when we increase our focus on our healthy habits and lifestyle. Don’t take the mindset that the weekend has to be harder. In fact, tons of my clients find they lose more weight on the weekend due to extra time to sleep, relax, drink water (and pee), workout, go grocery shopping and plan for the week.

How much water are you drinking this weekend? What veggies do you plan on eating tonight, tomorrow and the next day? Are you going to any events? How are you going to go about it smart??

I'm traveling (oy...) but I hope to include healthy snacks and smaller portions wherever I go! I'll be doing hiking and maybe kayaking some snorkeling etc so I'll be getting exercise and lots of water.

Amanda H.

This weekend wasn’t great meals wise but I did work out Friday and Saturday and hit my water goal hoping to get my nutrition on track today and the rest of the week to hopefully make up for some of it

  • Frustrated but staying the course. I’ve resisted so much temptation this week and I’m really proud of myself. No snacking at work when there’s treats literally every day. Working out when I can. But the scale has gone up so far this week. I’m wondering if it’s because my muscles are swelling from doing some strength training? Not true “lifting” but just using the strength machines at the gym. I just really don’t want to lose this bet, I lost last time and I would like to get my money back. Heres a photo of my lunch one day this week when the company ordered out for us. I got a salad with vegan chicken salad. Didn’t eat the burrata or use any dressing, the balsamic glaze was plenty.

Yea I go through this too with weight lifting. I gained 10 lbs since starting weight lifting over a year ago but my body looks smaller and my clothes fit better. When I try to lose weight like I do now I find following 2b mindset to really help because I usually see that I am not losing because I'm eating too much and think I can because I'm working out. I focus on protein and low key fasting meaning stopping food early like 5pm but make sure to eat enough protein to keep.the gains coming

Helen V.

Hang in there! Watch out for sneaky salt, that can drive the scale up with bloat.

How can I feel full without carbs ? Is it a mindset thing ? I don’t feel satisfied without a carb of some sort . Anyone else? How can I overcome this ?

Try having something to finish your dinner. Make it the same every night until you no longer expect a carb as part of dinner. I find a small handful of nuts works for me. Lots of crunch and fiber. A small amount of fat increases satiety, too. Double veggies and protein, also.

Shannon L.

@Carrie H, while the zucchini is good for you, you're setting yourself up to fail by coating in breadcrumbs.

I finally got a chance to start watching Fridays call last night (haven’t finished it yet) and she says you have to learn to like salad. I like salad but there are other foods that I know are good for me but I don’t like. The two big ones are salmon and tuna. No matter what I’ve done I can’t make myself eat them. How do you make yourself like something that you don’t like?

Honestly I don’t eat canned tuna either. I’ve tried it so many ways and it still grosses me out, dunno why. You don’t have to eat what you genuinely don’t enjoy. If you don’t like salmon or tuna, eat chicken, turkey, or cod instead… there are plenty of other lean proteins. I think it’s more of an issue when people make blanket statements like “I don’t like vegetables.” There’s so many different kinds of vegetables, prepared endless ways… I don’t like okra so I don’t eat it but I eat plenty of other veggies. When you force yourself to eat something you hate, you associate healthy eating with eating things you hate. Find healthy things you love.

Amanda V.

Yeah if those are the only 2 things you really don't like I wouldn't force, there are plenty of alternatives

I would love to hear wins or perspective shifts on dinner and done! It’s maybe the biggest mindset shift of all. Is it getting easier for anyone?

It is taking me a while to readjust this mindset, I'm going to try the brushing teeth straight after dinner, I've been good but last night my son was eating chips and I had a few of them.

Shannon L.

It seems to be that snacking after dinner is more of a habit than caused by hunger. But if it is truly hunger, another option is to eat 5-6 smaller meals during the day instead of 3 larger meals. The most important thing is that any after dinner grazing does not add significantly more calories. Keep track of your macros to see how badly after dinner snacking is hurting your weight loss progress.

Remember that your palate is fully capable of changing according to the foods you choose to eat. Your cravings will noticeably subside, and foods you used to enjoy will soon lose their luster. Nothing is better than how the right foods make you feel - that feeling lasts and tells your brain to crave those foods instead. Veggies are by far the most satisfying thing for me to eat! I literally feel more alive during and long after!

What are your favorite veggies?? And what do you not crave anymore??

I love Brussel sprouts and do not care for chocolate.

Valerie M.

Roasted veggies are my favorite. I love how I can eat them with pretty much anything. I know this works because I did it for 2 years before hit hard with being sick. I had a hard time bouncing back. It’s the chips. I can eat a whole bag of any kind of chip by myself. The cravings haven’t totally gone away yet. :pensive:
